Sewanee Summer in Russia
, a program of five and a half weeks offered in odd-numbered years and based in St. Petersburg during the White Nights, includes Russian language instruction at St. Petersburg State University and home stay or dormitory accommodation; a rich program of cultural excursions to artists’ studios, galleries, museums, palaces and other historical sites; attendance at concerts, ballet, and theater events; and trips to Moscow and Novgorod.

Students earn credit for two full courses from a range of offered courses (RUSN 151: Russian Language Abroad; RUSN 309: Study Abroad: Russian Culture; students to choose either ART 242: The Lens and The Landscape: Documentary Studies and the Environment OR ART 231: Topics in Electronic and Interactive Art) that may be applied toward the Russian major or minor, or Art major or minor.
