The Office of Faculty Grants is an initiative of the Dean of the College to help faculty seek external funds for study, research, equipment, curriculum support, travel, and other activities that strengthen a faculty member's professional development and
teaching ability.

The Office of Faculty Grants oversees and encourages outside funding by

  • Helping to identify potential sources of support
  • Providing technical expertise on proposal and application preparation
  • Navigating institutional approval requirements and post-award administration

The office provides support to all faculty members regardless of rank or employment status.

Submit Sewanee's Institutional Approval Form* to request assistance with recommendations or letters of support,
proposal drafts, and grant applications.  Requests for a Dean's letter should be submitted to the Grants Office
at least two weeks before the grant's deadline date.

The Grants Office will post and at times forward pertinent grant opportunities, but to best serve you we encourage you to schedule an appointment to discuss your specific research interests and needs.
