Society of Sewanee Scholars
The Society of Sewanee Scholars is composed of over 130 academic scholarship recipients at Sewanee: The University of the South. As a society we aim to create a support network for members in their academic pursuits and foster relationships with university professors. The society organizes different activities throughout the year and provides leadership opportunities for members. Below is a tentative outline of the society’s activities for the 2006/2007 academic year:

Welcome reception for 2010 scholars

Scholars night at the observatory
- Halloween party at Chen Hall

Service projects – Housing Sewanee, CAC, afterschool program at the women's center

Student/faculty lunch tables at McClurg
- Christmas Porch Light with the Vice Chancellor

Merit Scholars Weekend ---current scholars host prospective scholars

Scholars night at Stirlings.

Scholars in the bell tower.

Small groups of scholars get together to cook a meal, watch a movie, atttend a lecture or concert, or go bowling or contra dancing.
