Print Services, located in Van Ness Hall, is the University’s copying and printing center. Regular office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 12:00 noon, and 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
Our staff assists faculty, staff, students, and community members with their desktop publishing and printing needs. Classwork, publications, correspondence, and other documents can be scanned into machine-readable format, keyed, formatted, printed on a laser printer, and/or reproduced. You may submit your request via electronic mail to printservices@sewanee.edu, on CD, or on memory sticks (flash drive/jump drive). Other services include laser printing and photocopying (black & white and color, 8.5 x 11 and 11 x 17); laminating (up to 38" wide); book binding; black & white and color scanning; and stationery and business card printing. We also stock many kinds of paper and envelopes.
Several of our staff help coordinate and teach computer orientation for new faculty and staff. We also provide training and technical support to University faculty and staff in the areas of word processing, desktop publishing, graphics, and presentation software.
All incoming faxes received by the Telecommunications Office (x1145) are now being routed directly to your computer desktop via e-mail as a .pdf document. You may send outbound faxes in digital format (.pdf or .tif) as an e-mail attachment directly to Alice Black (
ablack@sewanee.edu).
Staff are available to copy documents on various kinds of stocks including overhead transparencies, text, and cover/index weights. Duplexing, collating, scanning, and stapling are available on many of the copiers located in satellite areas. Other services provided by the Copy Center are: binding, cutting, folding, paper drilling, and laminating.
Color Copying and Printing
A Minolta CPP500 digital color printer/copier, located in our offices in the basement of Carnegie, can make color prints/copies up to 12 x 18 inches from printed copy or pictures (we cannot reproduce copyrighted photos such as those made by a professional photographer).
Wide-Format Copying, Printing, and Scanning
Full color or black and white copying and printing, up to 42” wide, are available on our Canon iPF820. It will produce intricately detailed full-color renderings, CAD drawings, GIS maps and other large-format output on a variety of media. The accompanying Contex SD4450 scanner gives exceptional professional-grade performance with true 1200dpi optical resolution.
Offset Printing Center
University newsletters, stationery, envelopes, invitations, business cards, chapel programs, note pads, etc. are produced in the Printing Center. The Printing Center employs a publications specialist and two press operators. They make use of environmentally correct soybean inks and use recycled paper for most jobs produced. Staff are available to consult with you on your printing projects and will contract with another vendor if the job cannot be printed with the University's equipment.
