How do I make a request for materials to be purchased for the library collection? Is there a protocol I must follow? How long does this take?
There are two forms that you may use. To request books, videos, and CDs use the Materials Request Form. To request journals, newspapers, magazines and any electronic resource, use the Serials and Electronic Resource Request Form. The time will vary for these requests to be processed, especially for serials requests. Please indicate when requesting if your request is a rush.
ARTstor (http://www.artstor.org) is a non-profit initiative founded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation with a mission to use digital technology to enhance scholarship, teaching and learning in the arts and associated fields. The database consists of hundreds of thousands of digital images and related data. Sewanee's Slide Library collection of 10,000 images is also incorporated into their web-site. ARTstor collections will continue to grow to over 500,000 images by 2006. Faculty must obtain a password from Mary O'Neill, ext. 1660, or firstname.lastname@example.org in order to have instructor's privileges.
Can ARTstor be accessed from outside the network?
ARTstor may be used on Sewanee's campus or through the ACA Proxy Server link found on duPont Library's home page http://library.sewanee.edu. Contact Mary O'Neill or email@example.com for assistance with accessing ARTStor remotely.
Will any web browser work for ARTStor or do I need to use a particular browser?
