Beyond the Gates

Each year, the Office of Career Services host over 100 students and 45 alumni and parent volunteers for “Beyond the Gates: Preparing for Life and Work after Sewanee” on the weekend just before the start of the second semester.

Volunteers from medical professions share their knowledge about professional and graduate school programs and conduct mock interviews for these programs.

Many of the volunteers are on the faculty of medical schools and have served on admission committees. Other volunteers teach students about creating a budget and finding and negotiating a lease on an apartment.
