One of the three famous halls in the Hodgson zone, Phillips offers singles and doubles to upperclass women. Built in 1951, and formerly used as the Nurse's Quarters for the old hospital, the recently renovated hall provides housing for 26 women.
The rooms vary in size, with rooms on the first level and the basement level. Some are arranged in suites, with two rooms sharing a bathroom in between; some are singles with private bathrooms. The walls are painted gray, and the carpet is purple-gray-blue. The building is air-conditioned.
Phillips is accessible through a parking lot shared with Hodgson and a rear fireland. A comfortable commons room, complete with couches, chairs, television, and VCR, and kitchen with an adjacent dining room is located on the first floor. A study room with laundry machines is located in the basement. A screened porch is located on the side of the building and is the site of several social gatherings.
