Paul York announces to friends, colleagues, and students that his CD of premiere recordings entitled Cello Vision has been released and is available at www.centaurrecords.com under new releases. The CD contains an interesting variety of works that he premiered, such as "Ballad for Solo Cello and Seven Cellos" by Aaron Jay Kernis, "Toccata" by Stefan Freund, "Sonata for Cello and Piano" by Steve Rouse, "Night Moves for Cello and Marimba" by Frederick Speck, "Open Four for Cello and Wind Ensemble" by Paul Brink, and "Witnesses of Time for Solo Cello" by Marc Satterwhite.  

York is joined on the CD by artists Michael Gurt, Keith Robinson, Gary Hammond, Felix Wang, Greg Byrne, Peter McCaffrey, Frederick Speck and students Erin Cassel, Byron Farrar, Molly Goforth, and Nicole Boguslaw.

Patricia George will be teaching at the American Band College in Ashland, Oregon, this summer as well as in SSMF. She had a busy fall teaching masterclasses in Chicago, Arkadelphia AR, and Seattle. Winter and spring 2010 find her teaching in Summerville High School masterclasses, Summerville SC; Northwestern Flute Society, LaSalle/Peru IL; Flute SPA, Fresno CA; Flute  SPA, Regina, Saskatchewan; at the University of Texas in Austin and Texas State University in San Marcos.

Her book Flute 101 Mastering the Basics: A Method for the Beginning Flutist and Melodic Studies for the Advanced Player (with Phyllis Avidan Louke) has been signed to Theodore Presser Company. The Best Scale Book Ever by George and Louke is available at www.fabulousflute.com. George is now at work writing Book 2 in the Flute 101 series, this one: Bridging the Gap.
