Kappa Omega was founded in 1999 and, since its inception nine years ago, has flourished into a joyous, inclusive, and diverse group of young women. Boasting 65 members in spring of 2008, Kappa Omega prides itself on being large enough to maintain varied personalities and activities, but small enough for its members to create special, meaningful, and lasting relationships. Members of Kappa Omega enjoy everything from varsity athletics to tutoring other students. KO maintains one of campus’ highest academic records, and also sits as the incumbent intramural basketball and floor hockey champions! Besides athletics and academics, the members of Kappa Omega support and participate in campus wide community service activities such as “Fall Fest,” Housing Sewanee projects, and mentor programs such as Big People for Little People. Traditionally, Kappa Omega has primarily supported the Blue Monarch Foundation, donating thousands of fund-raised dollars to the foundation in the past several years. In the fall of 2008 KO adopted Cause for Paws and hosts fundraisers such as the Lake Cheston beach volleyball tournament to help the organization. KOs love to have fun, they enjoy hanging out, “must-see TV nights,” eating together in McClurg dining hall, co-hosting band parties, and dressing up for themed social functions!
A message to prospective Greeks:
