Did you receive a parking ticket?
Here are your options:
1) PAY THE TICKET. Violators of the parking restrictions will be fined $10–$25 for a first offense. A second violation per semester results in the regular fine for an offense, plus $50. A third, or subsequent, violation results in the regular fine, plus $100. (full policy below)
2) APPEAL THE TICKET WITHIN 48 HOURS of the time received (using the form below) Appeals are only considered if the citation is (for some reason) incorrect or unwarranted. If you are making such a claim, please complete the following information:
TIPS FOR THE APPEAL IF YOU ARE APPEALING BECAUSE:
This is your first ticket.
You didn't mean to park illegally.
You cannot afford the ticket.
You were not the one driving/parking the car.
You could not find a legal parking space nearby.
You didn't know what the rules were.
You have waited more than 48 hours to appeal.
Someone told you that you could park there, but you didn't check to see whether that was true.
Everyone else parks there.
This is your third ticket and you think the additional $100 penalty is unfair. (Or maybe You are not in agreement with Sewanee's parking policies.)
SAVE YOURSELF AND THE APPEALS COMMITTEE THE TIME, AND PAY THE TICKET. If you were not in violation of University policy, please complete the traffic appeal form.
You should receive a timely email response to your appeal. Please contact the Office of the Dean of Students for clarification of additional information. If you have: 1) read the
parking policy and still feel justified in appealing the citation and 2) completed all the information above, click on the submit button.
